What to expect from your au pair

In Belgium your au pair is allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours per week. She is entitled to 1 free day per week. 1 week paid holiday per 6 months and 450 € pocket money per month.

Her duties can be the following

Au pair
  • Waking up, bathing and dressing the children
  • Prepare a meal for the children, tidying the childrens' bedrooms, making the beds
  • Accompanying the children to and from school
  • Accompanying the children to activities, sports club, etc…
  • Childminding/playing/homework
  • Ironing, washing the dishes, setting and clearing the table, run errands
  • Babysitting maximum 2 nights per week NB 20 hrs per week including babysitting
